Mantro concludes the rivalry (Twice in a day!)

Friends,
Sorry to update the post for the game played on 15th August. I was not there till the end to gather the happnings, so Chetan Voluntered to write the blog on my behalf and belive me he surely raised the standard.... Thanks Chetan

Anoop Boob Has clicked the pics, but due to some technical problem in his laptop he was not able to mail them to me, which i would update once i have them with me..... Thanks Anoop

Yet another day of good attendance. Notable were Amol Marda (the old warhorse) and Anoop Biyani. The teams were exciting and full of talent, and the rivalry was alive (it died at the end of the day though) with Sani, myslef (read Shree), Nikhil (club player), Khattod (the biggie), Chetan jain (the dark horse), Gopal (the Ishant sharma), Anoop Biyani, Jitu Phafat and Professor (Pushpak Mundhada) in a team.

Mantro, Anup, Raman (Javagal), Nilesh, Naman, Ganesh Mandhana, Baadhah and none other but Amol Marda making the second team (1 short).

Good bowling start from baadshah and excellent spells from Raman and Nilesh helped restrict our batting might. Mantro chipped in with a couple of overs and Naman scalped the biggie of sani. I announced myself as a batsman with a nice boundry, but we ended up a modest total.
And as is it turned out, Mantro's team found it increasingly difficult to chase it with Naman fighting a lone battle. Ganya got bowled first ball and i removing anup cheaply didnt help either. Amol Marda reminded of the past a nice upper flick, but followed with a bad timing. With such a low total to defend we bought it to 14 needed of 3 overs. Sani took the ball and Mantro and Naman on crease (with few to follow). Sani removed Naman and Mantro tickled in with a few doubles and singles. 6 were needed with one ball to go from Sani (2 overs to go after that though). Mantro seemed determined to close the match and the rivalry in that over itself. And Bang went the last ball of Sani's over way way way beyond the straight boundry. End of a chapter. It would take decades to come out of this shock ( though one more was to follow for Sani, which would take the entire 7 lives).

Second Match had a shuffle in the team as i had to leave for some work (i left mid way in the first match). Naman added to Sani's team to strengthen his team. Mantro's team batted first and piled up 41 in 6 overs with Nilesh playing a gem of an innings. 5 boundaries!
Naman and Chetan started the chase and effortlessly thonged the bowling with a score of 39 in 5 overs. Just 3 needed in the last with all wickets intact.
2 singles of first 2 balls made it too onsided. 1 run of 4 balls (mantro the bowler). With a beautiful off cutter he removes Chetan and Sani takes the center stage. An apt occasion to return what Mantro gave him in the first match. In fact without any pressure. And Mantro bowls a dot ball. Every one come close in. Another good bll staright too raman who field excellently. Last ball and 1 to win (who thought it would come till this?). And a beautifully disguised flipper skidding on sani leaves him speechless. Stranded in the crease he is clueless of what happened. His team couldnt score a run in the last 4 balls. Naman left at the non striking end, and Mantro's team emerging winner (though a tie, on the previous match records).

A great day and Mantro practically ended the 8 years rivalry with both bat and ball? No matter how much he bounces back (Sani) its difficult from now on???

The Biggest Presence for Cricket Carnival

Dear All,
Last Sunday we felt the biggest presence for the Cricketing Event. In all 16 players were there and we really had a blast there.

No common fielding, we played like royals.

Some how since i was not able to publish this post on sunday evening, i am not able to recollect all the series of events but will post some highlights:

1. Mantro banged Ganesh Mandhana for 3 sixes in a over
2. Anup Boob Bahut Sadaya batting me.
3. I stuck 2 boundries... really i did
4. Naman Batted excellently but was totally cluless during my first over... really ask him!!!
5. Sanidhya Had a Good balling spell but got out to a NULLA delivery by chetan.
6. KSHITIJ The Badshaa was on the field after 7 years, Good balling performance but run out twice.. really good to see him come from Pipmri for the match...

Change in Venue... No change in commitment : CRICKET AT FC GROUND

Dear All,
Sorry for the delay in posting the blog. was a bit busy with Monday blues.

This sunday it was a bit different as we changed the destination of the great match(s) to FC ground.

I was ready at 7 and Sani came to my place on new red pulsar in red chaddi (the same one from the hostel days). I and Sani were among the first on the ground and we started playing, I balling and Sani Batting

The Atmosphere was great. It was very clowdy with drizzling. After some time it rained hevily dampning the ground but not our spirits. Soon we were joined by Ayushi's Papa Chetan and Ayushi's Mama Chetan who also came on red Karizma.

Dadya nd Vishnu Phafat joined us after some time and later the 150 kg hulk Rohan Kathod and 150 gms Anup book also joined in

Team A : Shree, Dadya, Mama Chetan and Vishu (the Ajite)
Team B : Sani, Roahn, Papa Chetan and Anup Boob

My team was defetad 2-1

Feeling Sleepy.... will continue tomorrow/.///
